HBO is Considering a Game of Thrones Spinoff

With only two seasons remaining, Game of Thrones fans are already worrying 2018 once the series officially draws to a close, but it looks like HBO doesn’t like it to end too and may well be delivering us all much more from the fantasy realm.

Considering the variety of roles and such a good history, there are certainly locations they could head off to keep on the world of Game of Thrones – a factor that supporters wish for.

The HBO Programming President Casey Bloys revealed that the network is surely considering continuing the saga: “There are so many properties and areas to go to. For us, it’s about finding the right take with the right writer.”

The ongoing writers, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, would be glad to remain involved, although they have mentioned that they aren’t considering creating any spin-off series that may be in the pipework.

Following the Emmy Awards, Benioff stated: “I’m sure there will be other series set in Westeros, but for us this is it.”

Although both writers who delivered the entire world of Game of Thrones to our screens are serious that they’re finished with everything in Westeros, Bloys thinks that there is a possibility they will be involved.

“You’re getting them right when they’re about to embark on production. It’s a big, big commitment for them, not just their creative force, but also their family life. They’re gone for months at a time. So it’s a big, big thing. But should we find a property that makes sense as a spinoff or a prequel – whatever you want to say – I would not expect them to do it, because they’re going to need to decompress for a good amount of time, but it would certainly be nice to have their involvement in some way.”

It appears that Game of Thrones won’t be completely departing our lives, however where the writers will take us is anyone’s guess.

Bloys himself claims that there are no projects produced yet – “there are things that sound interesting, but at this point, we have no writers assigned or anything like that. In a perfect world, Game of Thrones would keep going, and we wouldn’t have to deal with any of this!”

We all desire Game of Thrones would not end, the concept of a prequel has surely got folks fired up. Perhaps we could find out more about the Mad King or young Ned Stark?

No matter what happens, we’ll be ready and we’re sure we’ll enjoy it, whatever they decide.
