Fortune Island is situated in Nasugbu, Batangas. This remote island is unlike any other tropical destination you’ve previously visited in the Philippines. A perfect getaway from stress and crowd because it has no electricity, no cell phone signal, no accommodation. Just paradise. The good news is, if you’re an adventure seeker and happens to reside in Metro Manila, the travel time to this paradise is a mere two hours away!
History Of Fortune Island
Once owned by the Batangas Governor José Antonio Leviste, Fortune Island is a 27-hectare island that lies 14kms off the coast of Nasugbu town in the Batangas province of the Philippines. In 1995, Leviste built the luxurious Fortune Island Resort Club exclusively for upper-class who sought exclusive luxury. The major attraction of the island is an Acropolis with Grecian pillars and statues on the edge of the island overlooking the serene waters.
Aside from the smiling face of the caretakers, the white powdery sand will greet you upon arriving at the island. You will enjoy walking barefooted along its shores while watching the sunrise in the afternoon.
Located just below the famous pillars; you have to pass by the pillars and then a flight of stairs will lead you down to either the 15-ft, 30-ft, and 40-feet high rock edges.
Fortune Island also has a beautiful night sky and a perfect chance to practice “astrophotography”.
This is something that you will surely enjoy coming to Fortune Island. The caretakers of the island said that there’s a sunken ship just a few meters away from the island. Apart from that, it has such an abundant underwater marine life that you could consider as a paradise.
