The time has come when the 90’s kids are now the young adults of this generation. Before the adulting times were the fun times during the 90’s television era when many shows were educational, fun and wholesome.
A lot of these shows have shaped the 90’s generation of kids into what and who they are today. Many learned the ABC’s and science experiments through these shows.
Don’t you think it’s fun to look back on the fun times?
Hiraya Manawari was a kid-friendly television show that was launched in 1995. It basically teaches values such as love and respect for family and friends, humility and courage.
The stories are delivered through old Filipino legends and some original works from the show.
Sineskwela was an original Filipino T.V. show which focused on explaining science in a kid-friendly way. It was a good show because children were able to follow through their discussions because they were fun and interactive. At times, scienced teachers in schools bring in their huge televisions in classrooms so they can watch Sineskwela in their class.
It started airing in 1994 and ended in 2004.
Math-tinik was Sineskwela’s counterpart in Math department. Its first episode was in 1997 but unfortunately, it ended in 2004 as well. The death of these educational shows was mourned by the 90’s kids but since it was the time when technology boomed, they diverted their attention to newer and more educational platforms such as Youtube and other mobile apps for kids.
As the 90’s kids moved on from being kids and transitioned into being teenagers, their ‘barkada’ became the Ang TV squad. It is a variety show for the kids and by the kids, who were then transitioning into teenagers themselves.
The show was released in 1992 and ended in 1997.
Late teens during this time probably invested a lot of their time and money collecting notebooks with their favorite actors in it. When Gmik started, the youth-oriented TV show became a huge hit, and their actors became more popular as well.
The show mostly tackled regular family, school, and ‘barkada’ life. The stories evolved around the main characters, who were a group of teenagers going through so much in life.
